Our Expanded Vision: Empowering Women Across Communities
The Initiative for Women’s Health and Hygiene began in Los Angeles, where we’ve made significant strides in supporting unhoused and underprivileged women. As we expand our reach to St. Louis and beyond, our vision remains steadfast—to ensure that all women, regardless of their circumstances or location, have access to basic hygiene essentials.
We aim to build a support network in underserved communities, providing critical hygienic products and education and advocacy for women’s health. With each new city, we are one step closer to creating a future where every woman can maintain her dignity, health, and well-being.
Together, we can make a lasting impact, one community at a time.

Serving Underprivileged Women in L.A.
Los Angeles has one of the largest unhoused populations in the U.S. and the world. The total population experiencing homelessness in L.A. is around 60,000 people. Scattered among this displaced population are women, who account for approximately 31% of the total population experiencing homelessness of Los Angeles.
Unhoused women have minimal access to clean bathrooms and menstrual products like pads and tampons. Without access to menstrual products—a basic right—unhoused women resort to other methods such as using toilet paper, newspapers, and socks to manage their periods. These unsanitary methods put these women at risk for infection and in uncomfortable and unhealthy situations.
Our mission is to raise money to provide these impoverished women with hygienic products and other necessary items that help keep them clean and safe from the consequences of poor hygiene and a lack of access to feminine hygienic items.
